Abstract: | Captain Samuel J. Masters was U.S. Consul to Guam during the Years 1854 to 1856. Among his duties as Consul was looking out for U.S. economic interests on the island, namely that of the whaling fleet that stopped on the island on the way to hunting grounds near Japan for Right and Mink Whales. |
