Abstract: Members of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin (Latin: Ordo Fratrum Minorum Capuccinorum; postnominal abbr. O.F.M.Cap.) ultraconservative Basques from Navarre, Spain, opposed coeducation and other practices introduced by the Americans on Guam, such as the granting of divorces. The U.S. Naval Government began to replace the Spanish Capuchins with American Capuchins in 1937.
Description: The content of this collection is comprised of photocopied correspondence and other miscellaneous reports during the years 1921 to 1936, donated by Father Thomas McGrath, S.J. in 1986. Extent 0.5 linear feet.
