Abstract: The records contains a diary of the operations conducted by Central Pacific Task Force Fifth Fleet from January to December 1945. The ComFithFleet was situated in the headquarters ashore in the Service Force building, Makalapa Area, Pearl Harbor. It was engaged in plans for the capture, occupation and defense of bases in the NANSEI SHOTO by Central Pacific Task Forces. The records contains logs of ships and their location. The Task Force assumed operational control for searches in the Carolines, Marianas and Iwo Jima areas. All the records at the time, were secret. Now declassified.
