dc.description.abstract | Dr. Chin-Tian Lee has been a faculty member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences since 1974. He retired from UOG in 1995, when he was serving in the position of Dean of CALS. He served as a Professor of Horticulture and has held administrative positions at UOG including Director of the Guam Cooperative Extension Service, Director of the Guam Agricultural Experiment Station, and Dean. He has written numerous articles on local vegetable production and is well known for his development of a variety of tomato named “Lee's Plum”. Dr. Lee earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the National Taiwan University and he holds an M.S. and a Ph. D. in Agronomy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has been listed in Who's Who in America, and Personalities of America, among other such reference works. In 1988 he was the recipient of the UOG's Faculty Award for Excellence in Research, and also received the Outstanding Professor Award from the 19th Guam Legislature. His research accomplishment was one of the studies cited in the July 1986 issue of the U.S. Congressional Report. Dr. Lee has authored 33 papers and research reports on crop production and physiology of vegetal and field crops. He planned and completed the construction of the new building of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at UOG with full support from President Wilfred Leon Guerrero. | en_US |
